Volkswagen reveals pricing and specs for the Amarok in the UK

Volkswagen has today revealed the UK specification of the new, upcoming Amarok pickup truck. The all new Amarok was revealed last summer and is on sale now with prices starting at £34,055 ex VAT. Here in the UK, the model and spec range is a bit limited compared to other countries, with only a double cab body to choose, so no smaller models available with three engines.

As we know, the new Amarok is the result of a recent partnership and collaboration between Volkswagen and Ford to help boost each others commercial vehicles.

2022 VW Amarok

The original 2010 model has been on sale, albeit with a few refreshes for 13 years now and the new model is sharing a lot of components with the all-new Ford Ranger. Ford will be building the Amarok in South Africa.

Due to this, the engine and gearbox options are similar to Ford, as is the portrait infotainment screen.

The Amarok range starts off with the Life, priced from £34,055 ex VAT and comes with a 168bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine and a manual gearbox. This is the only engine that comes with a manual gearbox, everything else is automatic only.

This model also gets wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto displayed through a portrait 10-inch touchscreen as well as front and rear parking sensors and reversing camera.

The Syle comes with a 237bhp 3.0-litre diesel V6 and costs from £45,005 ex VAT.

At this time, an electric or hybrid Volkswagen Amarok is not available and has not been mentioned. The all-new Amarok is on sale now in the UK, priced from £34,055 ex VAT.
